She was born on the 26th of June 1996 in Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria. Veekee James is well-known for her gorgeous dresses which are worn by brides as well as celebrities on the red carpet.

Veekee James also doubles as a Gospel music minister and song writer. In her recent production she teamed up with Shallom Matthew and Oba for a beautiful gospel song titled “Olugbeja.”
The song “Olugbeja”, was a follow-up to “Nothing Less,” and it was released in May (produced by Mac Roc).
Early Life and Education
Veekee James was born on the 26th of June 1996 in Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria into a family of three children. She happens to be the only daughter with two other brothers.
Alongside her other siblings, Victoria was raised in Ajegunle, Lagos, mostly by her mom because her dad passed away when she was very young (at age five). According to her, the period of growing were great times with a lot of really tough times but they all shaped her into the resilient young businesswoman that she has become.
Veekee James’ mother who never remarried after her husband’s death, was a tailor and was great at it. In fact, she was able to raise her children from the proceeds of her fashion designing. Her shop then was full of many apprentices due to her expertise.
Veekee usually hung around her mother’s shop so long till the fashion designing skill found its way to her. She started sewing without any cautious intent to learn because it came so naturally. She kept on practicing and made so many dresses for friends from high school for free because it felt good, and did not feel like work at all.
The 27 year old Veekee James attended a reputable school and completed her primary and secondary education in Lagos State. After that, Veekee enrolled herself at the University of Uyo to pursue a degree in Biochemistry, which did not go as her family would’ve liked it at the time. She dropped out the university to focus on her professional career.
Growing up, Veekee was one of the brightest kids from high school but at college, her fashion business side kept fighting the academics and it won.
Career
Veekae James’ passion for fashion started way back in secondary school as a teenager. Although, she said it was not a new thing to her as she was raised by a fashion designer herself. She later ventured into other professions makeup, wig making, beauty blogging to mention but a few.
She has mastered the art of sculpting the feminine body in her dresses. Hence her designs are popular for enhanced boobs and hips with snatched waistlines. Beautiful beadings, illusions, and luxurious fabrics are some other remarkable features too. Sometimes, she styles her clients herself hence these attributes are almost common in them all.
From her works, we can firmly say that Veekee James is very talented and hard-working. Her dedication to her work is very admirable, which is why she gained this post as our ‘designer of the week’.
With several years of professional designing, styling, and make-up experience, she has worked with a lot of local and international celebrities for music video shoots, commercials, and pageantries. She has also supported other designers by wearing and promoting their brands.

Veekee James Husband: Femi Atere
The Popular Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James tied the knot with her husband Femi Atere in February 2024. Veekee James and Femi Atere held their traditional wedding ceremony on 9th February 2024.
Femi Atere is a Nigerian businessman and senior corporate analyst. Veekee James’ husband Femi Atere is a graduate of Covenant University, a private Christian University in Ota, Ogun State, and one of the top 500 Universities in the world.
Covenant University is affiliated with Living Faith Church Worldwide and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Association of African Universities, and National Universities Commission.
According to LinkedIn, he graduated from the institution in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Policy and Strategic Services.
Femi Atere worked from 2014 to 2019 as the sales manager of Somotex Nigeria Ltd.
Since February 2019, Veekee James’ husband worked as a sales manager for WANNEKA GLOBAL. He did additional work in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Marketing Management and Retail.
Veekee James’ husband, Femi Atere also owns Mr. Tidy NG, a premium cleaning service dealing in Janitorial, upholstery, fumigation, post-construction, post-renovation, post-events cleaning, and a car wash!
How did Veekee James meet Femi Atere?
The romantic journey of Veekee James and Femi Atere began in 2019 when their paths first crossed. What started as a friendship blossomed into a beautiful connection. Fast forward to 2022, and their relationship took a decisive turn towards a more serious commitment.
As Veekee James recounts, “You know something is ordained by God when it is peaceful. Our love story began in 2022. After we met in 2019, we became friends, and two years later, we started dating in 2022.”
Femi vividly recalled the moment he first laid eyes on Veekee James, stating, “It was love at first sight. She was working, and I happened to be at the scene. I couldn’t stop admiring her attitude towards her work and how she looked stunning. Her beauty was really mind-blowing.”
Their love story culminated in a joyous celebration on Thursday, February 8, 2024, as Veekee James and Femi Atere exchanged vows in a glamorous traditional wedding ceremony held in Lagos, Nigeria.
